IDP Leadership Team

Wayne provides senior leadership across IDP's specialist government personal injury practice, with deep expertise in workplace injury, WorkCover and complex personal injury litigation.

He began his legal career with one of IDP's predecessor firms and has grown with the firm over 30 years. Wayne has spent his career working in the specialist area that remains central to IDP's practice today.

As Chair of Partners, Wayne plays a key role in the strategic leadership, governance and direction of the firm. He works closely with the partnership and senior leadership team to support IDP's continued focus on high-quality legal services, strong client relationships and a sustainable, well-managed practice.

He is recognised for his depth of experience in complex workplace injury matters, including acting in one of the rare personal injury cases to proceed to the High Court of Australia. His long-standing connection with IDP gives him a strong understanding of the firm's clients, people and specialist role in the Victorian personal injury landscape.

Danielle has extensive experience in personal injury litigation, with a particular focus on recoveries matters.

She joined IDP in 2015 and has worked across the firm's major practice areas, including recoveries, statutory benefits and common law. She has also worked on the Ballarat circuit. This breadth gives Danielle a clear understanding of how statutory benefits, common law and recoveries matters intersect in practice.

Admitted to practice in Australia in 2010, Danielle began her legal career at another Victorian personal injury firm before gaining international litigation experience in London, where she was admitted to practice in the United Kingdom in 2012. She returned to Australia and practised in recoveries litigation before joining IDP, including on TAC and VWA recovery proceedings connected with the Black Saturday bushfire class actions.

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University. Her combination of recoveries expertise, local scheme knowledge and international litigation experience supports a careful, disciplined and commercially aware approach to complex personal injury matters.

Sophie has more than 25 years' experience in personal injury litigation, with deep expertise in workers' compensation, serious injury and common law matters.

As IDP's relationship lead for WorkSafe, Sophie works closely with the client, partners and legal teams to support the delivery of high-quality, responsive and commercially sensible legal services. She brings a strong understanding of the operational and strategic context in which statutory authorities manage claims, make decisions and work with external lawyers.

Admitted to practice in 2000, Sophie has worked across a broad range of WorkCover, serious injury, common law and TAC matters, including complex and high-value litigation. Earlier in her career, she completed a secondment with WorkSafe Victoria, gaining valuable insight into statutory benefits management, policy development and client decision-making. Sophie became a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law in 2014.

Sophie holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Teaching from Monash University. Her legal and educational background supports her clear communication style, her work with clients and her commitment to developing lawyers through strong supervision, mentoring and practical guidance.

Stephen leads IDP's recoveries practice and has extensive experience in personal injury litigation, transport accident matters and government legal services.

He brings a strong understanding of both private practice and client-side legal operations. Before joining IDP, Stephen held senior roles in private practice and spent nine years at the Transport Accident Commission, including five years as a Senior Legal Manager. This experience gives him a practical appreciation of the pressures, expectations and decision-making environment of statutory authorities.

Stephen is recognised for his depth of expertise in recoveries matters and is often consulted by others working in this specialist area. He brings an analytical, pragmatic and highly experienced approach to complex recovery proceedings, with a clear understanding of both legal risk and client priorities.

Since joining IDP in 2014, Stephen has played a key role in strengthening the firm's specialist recoveries capability. His background in mathematics and computer science adds a structured, systems-focused dimension to his approach to litigation strategy, recoveries work and complex problem solving.

Stephanie leads IDP's non-WorkSafe government work, including matters for Victoria Police, the Department of Transport and the Transport Accident Commission.

She has extensive experience in workplace injury, WorkCover and broader personal injury litigation, with a particular focus on statutory benefits, serious injury and litigated damages matters. Before joining IDP in 2016, Stephanie practised in plaintiff personal injury, working across WorkCover, public liability, medical negligence and Comcare matters. This background gives her a valuable perspective on how claims are developed, advanced and resolved from both sides of personal injury litigation.

Stephanie's breadth of experience supports IDP's growing work with government clients beyond its longstanding WorkSafe practice. She brings a strong understanding of the Victorian personal injury landscape and the different pressures that can arise across statutory schemes, serious injury claims and common law litigation.

Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Science from Monash University, where she majored in Genetics and was Dux. In 2024, she completed the New Leader Development Program at Melbourne Business School. Her academic and leadership background reflects the precision, discipline and clear communication she brings to complex personal injury and government client work.

Ram has over 20 years of experience in workplace injury, WorkCover and personal injury litigation, with a career spanning specialist defendant practice (including self-insurers) and major commercial law firm experience.

Before joining IDP in 2022, Ram was a partner in the disputes division of a major international law firm, and previously worked with one of IDP's predecessor firms, giving him a long-standing connection with the specialist area of practice that remains central to IDP today.

Ram brings strong technical expertise and a practical understanding of complex workplace injury claims. His experience across both specialist and large-firm environments gives him a broad perspective on litigation strategy, client service (both government and private) and the management of personal injury matters. He regularly appears in interlocutory matters and conducts mediations, which also provides costs benefit to clients.

He is passionate about the development of IDP's lawyers. Ram is known for his generous approach to mentoring juniors, helping build the technical capability, judgment, and confidence of the next generation of personal injury lawyers.

Anthony leads IDP's statutory benefits practice, supporting the firm's work across WorkCover matters and the Workers Compensation Independent Review Service.

He has deep experience in statutory benefits, serious injury and common law and workplace injury matters, with a strong understanding of the operational needs of statutory schemes and the importance of timely, consistent and well-reasoned advice. Anthony brings a practical, disciplined and client-focused approach to this area of practice, including IDP's work with WorkSafe Victoria and its agents.

Anthony has played a central role in strengthening IDP's statutory benefits capability. He works closely with lawyers across the team to ensure matters are managed efficiently, advice is clear and clients receive the benefit of IDP's specialist experience in workplace injury litigation.

He is known for building strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders, and for bringing calm judgment, technical expertise and a clear sense of priorities to complex statutory benefits, serious injury and common law work.

Jonathon has extensive experience in personal injury litigation, with a particular focus on workplace injury and WorkCover matters.

Since joining IDP in 2015, he has developed strong expertise in managing litigation across the firm's specialist practice areas. He currently leads IDP's circuit team, supporting the delivery of high-quality legal services across regional matters and ensuring lawyers are well prepared, responsive and consistent in their approach.

Jonathon is known for his careful command of the legal and procedural issues that arise in WorkCover litigation. He brings a considered and precise approach to statutory interpretation, evidentiary issues and the preparation of complex matters, supporting clear advice and sound litigation strategy.

He holds degrees in Law and Science from Monash University, with a major in Inorganic Chemistry and a minor in Genetics. His science background supports a methodical approach to factual analysis, technical evidence and the preparation of complex regional matters.

David King is General Manager of IDP Lawyers and works closely with the partners to lead the firm's operations, performance and strategic management.

David is a senior business practitioner with more than two decades' experience in law firm management. Since joining IDP in 2017, he has played a central role in supporting the firm's specialist focus, operational maturity and continued growth as a government personal injury practice.

Before joining IDP, David held senior executive roles across Victorian legal practices and legal services businesses, including as Chief Executive Officer, General Manager and Chief Financial Officer. He brings a strong commercial lens to firm leadership, with deep experience in financial management, business planning, systems, people and performance.

Known for his steady judgment and practical approach, David supports IDP's partners and teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service to clients while maintaining the strong internal foundations needed for a modern legal practice.

Trish works closely with IDP's partners to support the firm's people strategy, governance, leadership capability and workplace culture.

She holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Melbourne Business School, bringing a combination of legal understanding, business discipline and people-focused leadership to her role. Her work is focused on building the capability, systems and culture needed to support a specialist government personal injury practice.

At IDP, Trish leads initiatives across leadership development, performance, wellbeing, workforce planning, graduate development, employee engagement, governance and organisational change. This work supports IDP's commitment to being a high-performing, modern and sustainable legal practice, with strong supervision, clear expectations and a workplace culture that enables people to do their best work.

Her role reflects IDP's broader commitment to investing in its people, strengthening leadership at every level and ensuring the firm has the governance, capability and culture to meet the expectations of its government clients.
